The Tsalanang Easter Games Last 16 delivered a weekend of high drama, late goals, and three penalty shootouts.

Eight matches were played across Saturday and Sunday, with four teams advancing to the quarterfinals.


Saturday, 28 March

Kiddies Hope Academy 0–0 Pholas FC (Pholas FC win 4–1 on penalties)

A tight contest with no goals in 80 minutes. Pholas FC goalkeeper Mashudu emerged as the hero, saving two penalties in the shootout to send his side through.

Mengo FC 2–2 Sizanani FC (Sizanani FC win 3–1 on penalties)

Mengo FC struck first, but Sizanani captain Matorokisi scored early in the second half to level. Mengo then hit back with a stunning late equaliser to force penalties. In the shootout, the Sizanani goalkeeper saved three penalties to seal the win.

Molototsi FC 2–2 Dobsonville Giants (Dobsonville Giants win 4–3 on penalties)

Molototsi fought back twice, but it was a screamer from outside the 18-yard box that put Dobsonville ahead before Molototsi levelled again. In the shootout, Dobsonville held their nerve.

Goal of the Tournament contender: Dobsonville Giants’ long-range strike into the top corner left the goalkeeper with no chance.


Bootlaces FC 0–1 Bridgetown Rovers

The only match decided in normal time. A 74th-minute goal from Bridgetown Rovers broke the deadlock and sent them through.

Soweto Super United 1–0 Mfisher Tigers

Elliot Manikela struck just two minutes into the second half, and S.S.U held on for a hard-fought victory.

Ditau FC 1–0 DRD Classic

Slender’s second-half goal proved decisive. DRD Classic came close with a stunning free kick that rattled the woodwork, but Ditau held firm.
