Why is Jewelry not allowed in Soccer?

Jewelry is not allowed in soccer for safety reasons. This is because jewelry can pose a safety hazard to both the player wearing it and other players on the field.

Jewelry can get caught on clothing or other objects, causing injury to the player wearing it or to other players who come in contact with it. Necklaces, for example, can easily become tangled or caught on another player’s arm or fingers, potentially causing neck or throat injuries.

In addition, jewelry can also be used as a means of intentionally harming other players. For example, rings or bracelets can be used to scratch or cut an opponent during a tackle or challenge for the ball.

To ensure the safety of all players on the field, soccer rules require players to remove all jewelry before the game. Referees will check for any jewelry before the game starts and will require players to remove it if they find any.
